Richard Charles Ford Arts & Humanities Award
The Richard Charles Ford Arts & Humanities Award is awarded annually. It is sponsored by the Foundation for Muskegon Community College. A $500 gift will be made in the name of the award winner to the arts and/or humanities organization of their choice.

Mary Fisher Cronenwett
2006 Recipient
Mary Fisher Cronenwett will be honored October 4th by the Muskegon Area Arts & Humanities Festival Steering Committee for her influence on and contributions to the Muskegon area in various arts and humanities institutions.
Mary has been active with several orgainizations including the Muskegon County Museum, the Muskegon Museum of Art, the Hackley Public Library, the West Shore Symphony Orchestra, Muskegon Civic Theater and Hospice of Muskegon.
She serves at the MMA as a docent and works in the Gift Shop and at receptions and events. Also for the MMA she serves on the Anniversary Gala Committee, is a member of the Friends of Arts and the West Shore Graphic Arts Society.
She is an officer and member of the Irish American Society – working to help preserve the cultural and ethnic tradition of the Irish in Muskegon.
Mary is a board member for the WSSO and the current president of the Friends of Hackley Library.
Mary has a long interest in the history of the area. She has served on the board of the Muskegon County Museum. She has provided support of local projects and has worked as a tireless fund raiser to support programs. She was among the major supporters of the acquisition of the Book of Kells for Hackly Library.
She has been a member of Project Literacy – Muskegon and Oceana Counties in an effort to help those adults who have need of reading skills. Mary “has committed her time selflessly in order to further the mission of helping alleviate illiteracy among adults in our community.” She has assisted Hospice of Muskegon with its efforts to help others live life to the fullest and she adds to it humor and grace. She has been “an eloquent spokesperson for Hospice to the media and the public.”
