   Nov 13, 2009 Tellabration: A Tale for Two Cities - Terry Wooten, Storyteller
As part of White Lake Performing Arts Company's annual Tellabration Festival, Michigan's Poet Bard, Terry Wooten, will share stories about hobos and railroading. Wooten is a two-time recipient of the Michigan Creative Artists award. He has appeared at thousands of schools nationwide with his entertaining repertoire of songs and poetry. This fundraiser for the Muskegon Museum of Art features a large display of themed holiday trees, sponsored by area businesses and individuals. The professionally decorated trees, along with many other items of holiday décor and gift items, can be purchased through silent auction. Festival Special Events: Party in the Pines (11/19), Deck the Halls Box Lunch (11/23), Senior Day (11/24), and Teddy Bear breakfast (11/28), Attractions: Gingerbread Village, Fa-la-la-la Film Festival, appearances by Santa, special holiday shopping, and musical entertainment. Festival of Trees tickets are $5.00 per adult, $3.00 for Muskegon Museum of Art Members, and $2.00 per child ages 3-15. An All Festival Pass is available for $10.00. New for 2009 is the chance to purchase a tree for $15, already secured in place at Walker Park, just waiting for for your group to decorate on Sunday. Celebrate an Old Fashioned Christmas at the Fruitport VFW and Englewood Farms, located at Airline Road and Sheridan Road, Wednesday, December 16th and Thursday, December 17th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Bring your entire family out to view decorated Christmas Trees on display, enjoy hay rides, hot chocolate and chili. The official Tree Lighting will take place on Wednesday at 6:00pm, and don't miss Santa Clause both nights as he arrives at 6:30pm and will be listening to all your Christmas wishes until 7:30pm. Christmas carols will be sung around the fire by Edgewood Elementary 5th grade class on Wednesday, and Fruitport's Middle and High School on Thursday.    Jan 23, 2010 Margie's Fish & Chipper Festival
This first time festival will be held at the Getty 4 Drive-In, 920 E. Summit from 3:00-10:00 p.m. Admission includes a fish fry and movie. Prior to the movie, a fish frying contest will take place in which 10 contestants will fry up at least 10 pounds of fish for the judges and guests. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner along with the Margies Cup trophy. Also, five campfires will be blazing to help keep folks warm and available for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. It’s kind of like a winter picnic (bring your own beverages – free hot chocolate will be served). There will be snowmobile and motorcycle demonstrations as well as other fun and games including a "Bring something for the wood-chipper." The movie "Fargo" will be shown at dusk (around 6:15 p.m.) Admission is $10 per person or $25 per car load. The movie "Fargo" is rated R. No one younger than 17 will be admitted. Patrons may bring their own beverages.

This festival features three days of nonstop Irish music and a FEIS, an Irish dance competition with more than 900 dancers ranging in age from 5 to 50 are expected.
