Lake Michigan Beaches

Flower Creek Dunes Nature Preserve
Accessible by walking ¼ mile north along the beach from Meinert County Park, this 31-acre preserve features unspoiled dune habitat. The John J. Helstrom Dune Ridge Trail provides a safe path to explore the steep dunes, with an overlook offering panoramic views of Lake Michigan.

Lake Harbor Park
This 189-acre park, located on Lake Harbor Road just north of the Mona Lake Channel, boasts over 4,000 feet of Lake Michigan frontage. Visitors can enjoy access by foot, bike, car, or boat, as well as scenic views of both Lake Michigan and Mona Lake.

Medbery Park
With 600 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline, this park offers a small picnic area, restrooms, a beach volleyball court (bring your own net), and benches along the White Lake Channel. Fishing is allowed along the channel, and the park is handicap accessible.

Meinert Park
Meinert Park covers 82 acres of rolling dunes, including a large parabolic dune with scenic overlooks. Visitors can hike an unimproved trail to the top of the dune for breathtaking views of Little Flower Creek and Lake Michigan. A daily fee of $5.00 applies.

Pere Marquette Park
Pere Marquette Park offers soft, white sand, clear waters for swimming, and family-friendly amenities like playgrounds and picnic areas. Stroll the Muskegon Channel for views of the USS Silversides and historic lighthouses, or watch volleyball, try kite surfing, and spot passing ships. Don’t miss live music and great food at The Deck. Paid Parking is in effect from May 15 – September 15.

Pioneer County Park
This 145-acre park, located on Scenic Drive in Laketon Township, features a swimming beach, picnic areas, and 213 campsites. A $5.00 daily parking fee is required.

Duck Lake State Park
Stretching across 728 acres, this day-use park features a towering sand dune and over a mile of Lake Michigan shoreline. The park offers a great spot for hiking, picnicking, and swimming. A parking fee of $11.00 applies.

Kruse Park
This park features a mile of Lake Michigan beachfront, including an off-leash dog beach at the northern end. Amenities include nature trails, a playground, a basketball court, and restrooms.

Muskegon State Park
Muskegon State Park offers three miles of stunning shoreline—two miles along Lake Michigan and one mile on Muskegon Lake. Visitors can enjoy swimming, hiking, and camping in this picturesque setting.

P.J. Hoffmaster State Park
Known for its towering dunes and 297-site modern campground, P.J. Hoffmaster State Park features over three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A highlight is the Dune Climb Stairway, leading to an observation deck with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding dunes.

Inland Lake Beaches

Beals Wolf Lake and Sunset Beaches
Beals Wolf Lake and Sunset Beach both offer designated swimming areas, boat launches, and restroom facilities. Sunset Beach Park covers 2.6 acres, while Beals Wolf Lake Park spans 6.6 acres and includes a ball field and pavilion.

Blue Lake County Park
Located on Big Blue Lake, this 25-acre park offers 600 feet of lake frontage. Amenities include swimming, fishing, boating, water-skiing, and carry-in boat access. Camping is also available.

Duck Lake Channel Beach
A small stretch of Lake Michigan beach is accessible via the Duck Lake Channel. Swimmers can wade through the warm, shallow waters of the natural channel connecting Duck Lake to Lake Michigan.

Harbour Towne Beach
Harbour Towne Beach offers scenic views of Muskegon Lake and the channel to Lake Michigan. The family-friendly beach features soft sand, calm waters, a fire pit, seasonal water safety equipment, parking, and restrooms. Nearby attractions include the Muskegon Channel, historic lights, USS Silversides Museum, Pere Marquette Park, and Dockers Fishhouse. Paid parking applies from May 15 to September 15.

Horton Park on Bear Lake
This cozy township park provides access to the shallow waters of Bear Lake, making it a great spot for families. Bear Lake connects to Muskegon Lake via a recreational channel.

Ross Park on Mona Lake
Ross Park spans 43 acres along Mona Lake, offering a sandy beach, play equipment, a picnic area, a paved walkway, and a volleyball court.

Twin Lake County Park
This pet-friendly park features picnic areas, a boat launch, fishing spots, a playground, and volleyball and tennis courts. A daily fee of $5.00 is required.
