Things to Do With Kids
Muskegon isn’t just a place for kids at heart! Parents will be amazed by the variety of attractions geared towards the little one.
Year Round Thrills
Throughout the summer months, kids of all ages will enjoy Michigan’s Adventure and Wild Water Adventure, a Cedar Fair amusement park, located right here in Muskegon County. Younger kids can explore the brand new Camp Snoopy, where they will recognize Snoopy and crew, or check out the Half-Pint paradise where water slides and an interactive splash pad await. The older kids will enjoy the excitement of roller coasts and thrill rides, as well as a variety of water slides and wave pools.
Just a short, scenic drive north of Muskegon, you will find Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo. Known for their fall festival season, Lewis Farm has everything from exotic animals to rubber duck races. Kids of all ages will love testing their strength at the tractor pull, or playing in the “Corny Barn”, where you can “swim” through corn kernels. During the fall, a freshly made corn maze, you pick apples, and apple cannons will add to your experience.
During the winter months, the whole family will enjoy the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park. Those thrill-seekers in the family can luge like an Olympian, while the younger members learn how to ice skate around a ¼ mile lighted skate trail through the white pine forest. Come back together as a family around the fire with a warm cup of hot chocolate and smores, while you laugh and tell stories of your Muskegon adventure.
Beach Day
Introduce the kids to Lake Michigan and white sand beaches, without the worry of salt and sharks. Pere Marquette Beach is a great place to start. Older kids will love testing their balance on paddle boards, conveniently rented on the beach. Take the younger kids to the playground, located next to the snack bar and restaurants. Once your beach day is done, walk to The Deck. With a family friendly menu, beach swings, foosball and live music, your day will be sure to end on the right note.
