Eligible lodging providers can receive a complimentary listing on VisitMuskegon.org, complete with photos, amenities, contact information, booking links, and placement on our accommodations directory.

New for Summer 2026, eligible vacation rentals may also be featured on our interactive vacation rental map, making it even easier for travelers to discover properties throughout Muskegon County.

Is My Property Eligible for a Listing?

VisitMuskegon.org provides complimentary listings for eligible lodging providers operating within Muskegon County. To maintain an accurate and reliable visitor experience, all listings are subject to review and approval by Visit Muskegon.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a listing on VisitMuskegon.org, a property must:

  • Be located within Muskegon County
  • Comply with applicable Muskegon County accommodation tax requirements
  • Offer overnight accommodations to the traveling public
  • Maintain current and accurate contact information
  • Provide photographs and a property description suitable for publication
  • Comply with any applicable municipal registration, licensing, zoning, or permitting requirements
  • Agree to maintain accurate listing information and notify Visit Muskegon of significant changes 

Accommodation Tax Compliance

Properties listed on VisitMuskegon.org are expected to remain current with Muskegon County accommodation tax filing requirements. Visit Muskegon may review listing eligibility periodically to ensure information remains accurate and current.

  • Contact information
  • Website or booking link
  • Property description
  • Current photos
  • Amenity information
  • Occupancy information

This information helps travelers compare lodging options and find accommodations that best meet their needs. 

Listing Review

All new listings, updates, and submitted content are reviewed by Visit Muskegon before publication. Visit Muskegon reserves the right to edit submissions for formatting, style, clarity, length, and consistency with website standards. Listings that do not meet eligibility requirements or contain incomplete information may be returned for revision.

 

How to Request or Update a Listing

Visit Muskegon manages lodging listings through the Visit Muskegon Partner Portal. Eligible lodging providers may request access to create a new listing, update property information, upload photos, and manage amenities. To request Partner Portal access, email ATAX@VisitMuskegon.org and include the information below. 

Request a Partner Portal Login

To request access to the Visit Muskegon Partner Portal, please email ATAX@VisitMuskegon.org and include:

  • Your name
  • Rental property address
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Once your information has been reviewed, Visit Muskegon staff will provide instructions for accessing the Partner Portal.

Keeping Your Listing Current

Accurate listings help travelers find the information they need when planning their stay in Muskegon County. Property owners and managers are encouraged to review their listing regularly and update photos, amenities, contact information, website links, and property descriptions as changes occur.

Accommodation Tax Compliance

A VisitMuskegon.org listing is optional. Accommodation tax obligations are not dependent on whether a property is listed on VisitMuskegon.org. Lodging providers offering stays of 30 nights or fewer are required to collect, file, and remit Muskegon County accommodation taxes regardless of whether the property appears on VisitMuskegon.org, Airbnb®, VRBO®, or is marketed independently. Properties listed on VisitMuskegon.org are expected to remain current with Muskegon County accommodation tax requirements.
