Short Term Rentals in Muskegon County
Starting June 20, 2025, Visit Muskegon is transitioning to a new system for short term rental tax reporting and payments. All STR owners will use Granicus Host Compliance to file monthly reports and submit accommodation taxes. Please click the link to review detailed information for this change.
All short-term rentals in Muskegon County are required to collect and remit a 5% accommodation tax on stays of 30 nights or fewer. To learn more, view Muskegon County Ordinance No. 2013-406.
